Penco was a brand of guitars owned and manufactured by the Hoshino Gakki Co. in its factory of Nagoya, Japan from 1974-1978. Ibanez guitars and Tama Drums are other brands owned and manufactured by Hoshino Gakki. The Gakki name is very desirable in the world of Japanese made acoustic/classical guitars. In the United States, Penco guitars were distributed by the Philadelphia Music Company. The Penco brand was of relatively high quality, Penco made Martin and Gibson style acoustic guitars. The Penco M90 Classical had Solid Cedar Tops and backs and sides of maple or rosewood depending on the model. This particular guitar has the Solid Cedar Top and maple sides and back and it is gorgeous. Extremely hard to find. Beautiful flame throughout the maple. See pics. From the binding work on the body and the book matched maple back, to the layered headstock, this guitar is of excellent quality. There are some nicks, scratches and small surface cracks but nothing abnormal for a 50 year old guitar. It has fresh new Martin strings and sounds/feels great! This guitar includes a chipboard case. See pics for details and message us with any questions. Thank you. Just $365
